Photos of the porches, hot tub, and yard
You can relax in the shade on the front porch and enjoy the songs of the birds
just as the Seely Family did in days of olde.
Whether reading or visiting or enjoying the morning air, there is plenty of room and plenty of seating for you and other guests as you enjoy the quiet neighborhood life on East Mansur.
Our warm and pleasant hot tub is in a private area just off the back porch.
The water is just warm enough for a lengthy conversation in the evening under the stars.
Bathrobes are provided in the rooms for a comfortable trip to and from your room.
Come enjoy the winter season in Guthrie. The downtown and shops are decked out for a joyous Territorial Christmas with carolers on the street, A Territorial Christmas Carol at the Pollard Theater, and living-character displays in the shop windows. The Seely House will provide the warm and cozy lodgings for your visit.
In all seasons, the Capital Hill Trolley will give you a guided tour of the city of Guthrie.
You'll learn about the various architectural styles exemplified by turn-of-the-century Guthrie homes.
You'll also see many of Guthrie's sites.
Photos of the Dining Room and Parlor
Guests are greeted at the Seely House in the parlor. Guests
are free to use the parlor and dining room for relaxing or visiting new and
old friends. The parlor furniture is from the turn of the century (settee
ensemble) and the 1920's (chair at the right and in next two photos).
The parlor is a perfect place to read and relax in the charm of turn-of-the-century surroundings.
Members of he Guthrie Historic Society assisted in decorating the interior of the first floor rooms.
This antique piano was built in the 1860's in England.
This antique National sewing machine is also from the 1860's. Being built before bobbins were used, it sews only a straight stitch.
Breakfast is served in the downstairs dining room unless
other arrangements are made. Generally, breakfast consists of three courses -
Here's a sample first course - a summer fruit salad of strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe, and watermelon with a lemon yogurt topping and a sprig of mint. On the side are miniature éclairs. The juice is white grape and peach. |
